Mitzi's MessageÂ
Dear Friends,Â
I recently had the opportunity to participate in the Femtechnology Summit in Basel, Switzerland on the campus of Roche Pharmaceuticals. Professionals from all over the world, but mostly Europe and the US, came together to consider important topics in women’s health, such as women-centric cancer care, financing innovation in women's health and redesigning healthcare with women in mind. I facilitated two workshops on how women obtain health information. It was a lively discussion, which I will be writing about in the coming weeks. I even had the opportunity to inaugurate Roche's new podcast studio and interviewed the event organizers. I ended the week in London, where another women’s health conference was being held, sponsored by Femtech Lab, a women’s health incubator.Â
I share these moments with you because I am energized by the increasing awareness of the importance of women’s health, not only in the United States but literally everywhere. I am also energized by the numerous professionals, entrepreneurs, scientists, clinicians, investors and advocates who are coming together at conferences like these to consider key issues in women’s health and find ways to break down barriers and move progress forward. It’s been exciting for me to get to connect in person with people I met online that share my passion for women’s health. It was also gratifying to have my youngest daughter accompany me and share my work while she also connected with other young professionals.Â
In the past year, I have had the opportunity to interview some leading voices living outside the US who are moving the needle in women’s health. As we take a break this summer, we thought we would highlight these past episodes. They are a wonderful reminder that there is literally an entire world of innovators and advocates who are improving women’s health.Â
Take good care, Â
